Getting Started............

At the Advanced Pain Institute, It is our belief that people should not expected to live with pain. While there are many conditions which can result in acute or chronic pain, our goal is to help you achieve long term reduction or possible elimination of pain and return you to your maximum level of functioning.

There is no one best way to treat pain, however we seek to identify a form of treatment which will provide the most significant and prolonged degree of pain relief.

Length of treatment varies for each individual depending on the complexity of the condition, and medication may be required to help manage pain. Once effective treatment has been implemented, we hope to significantly decrease or eliminate the need for pain medication.

In preparation for your consultation, you will be requested to complete an extensive pain questionnaire. At the initial visit, A comprehensive medical history and physical examination are performed and previous medical records reviewed (if available) . If possible, please bring with you:

- X-rays, MRI, CT scan reports

- EMG/nerve conduction study reports

- pertinent medical records

- list of current medications

The information provided will assist the doctor in identifying and locating the nerve or nerve groups involved in your pain syndrome, thereby enabling him to develop an appropriate plan of treatment. If indicated, diagnosis test will be ordered and patients may be referred to other medical specialist for consultation.
