Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a common condition characterized by long-term body-wide pain and tender points in muscles, tendons, joints, and other soft tissue. Fibromyalgia has been linked to fatigue, insomnia, headaches, numbness in feet and hands, and anxiety. Fibromyalgia can develop on its own or along with other musculoskeletal conditions such as lupus. This condition can mimic the pain that occurs with various types of arthritis. The soft-tissue pain is described as deep-aching, shooting, burning and ranges from mild to severe. For some patients pain improves during the day and increases again during the evening. Pain can increase with activity, cold weather, and stress. |
